4* not out

May 19 is one of those important days in my life when i finally took a plunge into the corporate jungle. All those vague ideas of working in my home town as a lecturer or in Electricity Board as an AE or to become a politician sounds so funny now. I think the lure of money and prospect of travelling the world seduced me to join TCS. I would say 4 years have been fantastic for me with lot of learning, unlearning and relearning. I have made a lot of friends in TCS and some good colleagues as well. But still my first two months of initial learning program or ILP as we call it was the best time in this whole episode.

The day i joined i came to know i had been put under the C-03 batch with 28 others. Some of them i knew from my college and some other i met them during the marathon interviews in shreds, aluva (TCS walk in). We were different from one another by all means but we hit the right note right away. Training in TeknoTurf Coimbatore is a 'P.A.I.N' but still we managed to find ounces of happiness in coffee breaks and sad claps. Cooking up stories and pulling each others leg was the order of the day.

The soft skills classes (yeah the one where they teach you etiquettes phone/dining and you name it what) was hillarious as every time we try think out of the box and end up doing something very clumsy. Nihongo(japaneese) lessons were funnier because Mridula San tried to teach us japaneese through the other fold of teaching its the 'fun filled' way. Dude it used to be so hillarious and kick ass and the best part is we were getting paid for all this. There was this drama or skit we had to perform and one of the villain(no names again) who is a Murderer in the story says "Sorry". And the first C programming class where i personally had a very tough time as i had no clue about programming apart from 'printf' statements. The night we all left to our base branches and home inturn we gathered in my room and spoke till the early morning hours. Still many many more to write of those hillarious moments in Ooty trip, Paheli movie etc etc. But might be a case of overcooking the dish. to round it off i would love to go back to those ILP days again where i met thos wonderful mates of mine.

Most of us are in different parts of the world now and we contact each other through mails or phone calls and yes mostly through orkut. As of today the plan is to make it BIG on our 5th anniversary (19/05/2010), if god helps that is gonna be one helluva get together.
