If we look at the statistics, those who gets booked for rape manages to slip through the gaps and attitudes of our legal system and the conviction rates falls well below a pathetic 25%.So you see, treating the manifestations won't take us anywhere, its the root causes that needs to be addressed,-social status of our women.arifahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12694080835948583815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1425603238111583772.post-48627712736712541672012-07-20T11:44:14.462-04:002012-07-20T11:44:14.462-04:00PUNISHMENT should serve the purpose ..... it is no...PUNISHMENT should serve the purpose ..... it is not there to correct one who has done it, nor is it a penance for anything already committed .... it is to deter those who intend to go the wrong way ..... from choosing it ...

Fear that justice will get you and punish you should be enough to get most of the lot to proper side of the line .....

But when was the last time you heard a real criminal getting punished they way they should be in India ?? Politicians rape the country, law enforcement watches the rape with relish, the judiciary gives a standing ovation and last but not the least WE THE PEOPLE CRIB about it on blogs and never do a thing.....

When was the last time a court in India gave a judgement on time on anything of value ..... when was the last time the Police of this country did a proper and truthful investigation on anything ???

There are criminal charges on every top Indian leader right from the President.

Let the guilty's spine shiver at the thought of punishment that awaits him ... and there will be no more crime ...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1425603238111583772.post-1136454401287786482012-07-18T23:03:15.749-04:002012-07-18T23:03:15.749-04:00Good topic. For eg I noticed an ex boss of mine was a woman and she had a whole crew of women ruling the roost and we felt the same - discriminated by a bunch of women. Sure women feel the same in many more places. It's just the rule of a majority. Some times its men vs women, white vs black, fairer vs darker, older vs younger, etc...the outcomes are different - some very heinous like the one that happened in Guwahati and should be punished. I am sure the young lady had every right to be in the pub and get pretty high, but at least she should have carried a gun or mace spray and plan for the worst....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
